We don’t get to hug each other, or hold each other’s hands. We have text messages and pictures that we can look at. We don’t get to kiss each other or tickle each other, we have emoticons and videos to show how we feel or make each other laugh. We don’t get to sleep next to each other, or wake up in each other’s arms, instead we go to sleep and wake up at different times with the other person on the other side of the computer screen. Most people take those little physical things for granted and don’t realize how lucky they are to have the other person right next to them. For us, we can only imagine what the caress of the other person’s hand feels like, we can only imagine what it’s like to be held by one another. I’m not complaining, even though we’re miles apart, I appreciate everything we do. The countless hours on Skype, the games we play, the messages we write, and reassurance we give each other, I like all of that. Although I’d give anything to be by your side for 5 minutes, I can wait patiently until you’re here with me.
